1. Make Dog Treats

Let’s be honest, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without sweet, tasty treats! Plus, since our dogs have obviously been on the nice list all year, what could be more fun than making homemade holiday dog treats?

By looking on Pinterest, Instagram or TikTok, you can find so many tasty and fun Christmas dog treat recipes to make for your pup! Plus, homemade dog treats also double as great Christmas gifts for other dog parents and their pups. Hello stocking stuffers!

2. Take Christmas Card Photos

Like we need another reason to take adorable photos of our dogs, right? Grab your favorite festive looks and set your phone up on a Tripod to take the perfect family photo for your Christmas cards this year!

Whether you want to wear matching Christmas sweaters, pajamas or more traditional festive clothing, there are a ton of adorable options to match with your dog to create the perfect holiday look!

3. Go Look at Christmas Lights

Does your neighborhood or town have some of the best Christmas lights? Grab your dog’s leash and say two of their favorite words: “car ride” and enjoy a night filled with holly jolly fun!

4. Have a Holiday Movie Marathon

As it gets colder outside, a cozy cuddle session in bed or on the couch with our dog and a classic holiday movie sounds perfect! Find your favorite holiday movies, grab some popcorn and enjoy a holiday movie marathon with your pup! Need some movie recommendations? Below are some classics that are great for the whole family:

  • The Polar Express
  • How The Grinch Stole Christmas (featuring one of our favorite Christmas dogs, Max!)
  • Home Alone
  • Elf
  • The Santa Claus (all of them!)
  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  • A Charlie Brown Christmas

5. Wear Christmas Sweaters Together

Do you love finding the best ugly Christmas sweaters every year? Did you know you can also find one for your dog! Visit your local PetSmart, Chewy.com or many other pet retailers to find the cutest matching Christmas sweaters to wear with your pup all holiday season.

P.S. They’re sure to be a big hit at your annual Christmas party!

6. Take Them Christmas Gift Shopping

Want to surprise your dog with the best day ever? Take them Christmas shopping! Many retailers like PetSmart, Petco, TJ Maxx, Home Goods and more are dog-friendly and have some amazing deals on pet toys, treats and more from your favorite brands!

P.S. Take your dog on a second trip right after the holidays to find all of their favorite toys that may not have made it past Christmas (if you know, you know!) at super discounted prices! Outlet stores like TJ Maxx and Home Goods will have even better prices than before!
