Turkey isn’t just for Thanksgiving. It is the perfect accompaniment to homemade dog food. Turkey is one of the most digestible proteins for dogs and is a great source of Selenium.
Also, turkey is known for providing the most protein punch for the caloric intake. Because it is an easy protein on the stomach, we use it often for homemade allergy dog food.

Turkey is one of those readily available proteins that is straightforward to make. We’ve put together three dog food recipes with turkey to help get you started!
This mash is very much so the standard for homemade dog food recipes. It contains a protein, veggie, and grain – along with the correct nutrients.
Cut carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli.
Add six cups of water and coconut oil to ground turkey in a large pot and boil until cooked.
Add vegetables and fish oil to the pot and continue cooking until vegetables are tender, drain after.
Cook the rice in a separate pot and combine it with turkey and veggie mixture.
Let cool and serve! (can be frozen in separate portions for later)
Both you and your dog now have a hearty stew option for cold nights. This turkey stew is fun to make, plus packs a great nutritional punch.
Microwave sweet potato until cooked and dice.
Chop green beans and carrot.
Melt coconut oil in sauté pan and sauté turkey and set aside.
Gradually add water and flour in pan to create a roux.
Add vegetables and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. Stir pork back in and add fish oil.
Let cool and serve! (Can be frozen in individual portions for later)
It may not be very appealing to us, but this turkey meatloaf for dogs is wonderful. Packed with protein and nutrients the meatloaf is easy to make, freeze, and serve. We love the added hard boiled eggs!
Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Mix together the lean ground turkey, chopped carrots, and peas.
Add the oats and eggs. Mix until the loaf mixture comes together.
Lightly grease a loaf pan with olive oil and then add half the mixture to the pan.
Place the two sliced hard-boiled eggs along the center of the loaf and then cover with the other half of the ground turkey mixture.
Bake for 45 minutes. Cut in slices and serve.
